Avocado and Crab Salad

While we go through the heat I’m always looking for a nice fresh cool salad to pare with dinner. This is a great tasting salad to go with anything off the grill. It is made with lime juice, cilantro, red onions and olive oil. But to heat things up a little bit it has a Mexican flare to it.

Course: Appetizer, Lunch


  • 1 medium avocado, about 5 oz
  • 4 oz lump crab meat
  • 2 tbsp chopped red onion
  • 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lime juice, (usually only takes 1 lime)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 grape tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt and fresh black pepper
  • 2 leaves butter lettuce, optional

Avocado and Crab Salad Instructions

  • In a bowl combine onion, lime juice, cilantro, tomato, olive oil,
  • Add 1/8 tsp salt and fresh pepper, or add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add crab meat and gently mix.
  • Spoon the avocado out and try to keep their form.
  • Season with the rest of the 1/8 tsp salt
  • Fill the avocado halves with crab salad
  • Place on lettuce and serve.
